Download Gears 2 Mods companion13.2 KB ↓Separate Play / Mods launcher for your installed own-copy edition. Import compatible cooked-asset mod ZIPs, enable or disable them, and set load order. Requires Windows and Python 3.11+ with Tkinter. Mod files are supplied separately. Native in-game menus are unchanged; Windows gameplay testing is still pending.
Requirements & verification
Your own supported retail ISO is required; other revisions are refused. Setup handles local preparation without manual compiling or a separate Python installation. If Microsoft C++ tools are missing, use its Prepare build tools button and review Microsoft’s installer. Allow 20 GB of working space, or 38 GB with HD, plus space for the Microsoft tools. HD generation uses a Vulkan-capable GPU and can take considerable time.
Tested on Windows 11 with an RTX 5080. Full campaign, high-FPS gameplay and clean-machine prerequisite testing remain ongoing. Saves and controller profiles are kept across upgrades, rollback and removal. The game stays closed after setup.
